Description
Working within the B2B software space my global client is looking for a Tech Savvy Product Manager, with experience in a software product management market facing role.
HO is located in Bournemouth with a Hybrid contract (2-3 days in the office) with a very friendly 'family feel' culture and great benefits to match.
Strategic development
- Manage Portfolio strategy in line with Business vision and goals to include the definition, leadership and implementation of new product vision, strategy and roadmaps to support the overall company strategy and goals.
- Guide market positioning of overall BEST product and specific developments
- Identify and quantify partnership opportunities in line with roadmap development, then guide the delivery of these plans to enhance the market offerings of the business
Market insight
- Build an ongoing picture of the market and competitive environment, including the ongoing analysis of market changes, customer and competitor activities and disruptive technologies
- Build ongoing customer insight (trends, buying behaviours etc) to influence roadmap decisions and priorities
- Build clear customer segmentation
- Analyse and draw insights from the research to inform effective positioning strategies and to define roadmap and plans
Product portfolio and roadmap management
- Manage the product portfolio including:
- Specifying market requirements for current and future products
- Establishing and managing the project approval process, identifying justifying and defining product developments
- Reviewing product performance & gaps/emerging needs in light of the above insight
- Monitoring sales uptake and ROI
- Working with product marketing to deliver go to market plans, including value proposition and positioning for each segment, product launches and ongoing gap analysis
- Actively managing the end to end product lifecycle
Deliver products to market through:
- Working with development and product marketing to ensure the effective introduction of new products and processes
- Ensuring Sales teams are effectively skilled and knowledgeable about product features, benefits and commercials through close working relationship and training as required
- Being the goto product contact for Sales and Commercial, and drive sales in accordance with product business plans
Personal Requirements
- Strong understanding and experience of Product Management
- Able to make the translation from customer needs to product features and to business benefit/value add within a customer offering
- Able to drive decisions for conflicting priorities and focus areas
- Business planning and analysis experience
- Energetic and tenacious approach to problem solving
- Able to present to customers and internal stakeholders at all levels
- Cando, flexible attitude to drive success in a small business organisation
- Proven ability to influence crossfunctional teams at all levels
- Some travel to customer or partner locations may be necessary.
