Contract Type - Open ended, Full time - 35 Hours Per Week
**1 x position available

The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking to recruit a new full time, open-ended Buildings and Facilities Officer.


The Opportunity:


Working within the dedicated PPLS Facilities Team, the job holder will provide first line support in all matters related to facilities management, estates & buildings, security and health & safety across the PPLS estate.

The job holder will be proactively involved with the ongoing changes taking place across the PPLS estates, ensuring transitions are smooth and timely, identifying areas for improvement and providing School-level project management support for works programs and office moves.


The post holder will work as part of the wider Buildings and Facilitates and Information Technology team and will assist with the deployment, movement and decommissioning of the School's IT assets.

The role also requires the post holder to provide basic support for printers and AV equipment.


The post holder will actively support and contribute to the schools success and will be encouraged to also deliver ideas for continuous improvement opportunities as they arise.

This role is entirely site-based at the PPLS estate, located within Central Campus. Hybrid working is not possible for this post.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Educated to at least HND level plus at least 2 years' relevant work experience, OR school education to standard grade or equivalent plus typically 3 years' relevant work experience
  • Experience in project management
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Initiative and judgement to resolve problems independently, to be proactive and to prioritise appropriately
