A central key role for the business responsible to ensure effective and efficient resource planning and raw material allocation in a lean environment.

To optimise customer channels, demand, supply, yield and capacity to accommodate sales volume growth atmargin expectation. An important role to enable timely and cost effective delivery of joint business plans with key customers, day by day, week-by
- week over 52 weeks.


Resource Planning Manager duties:


  • Create, implement and manage a centrally driven resource planning function for the business operating 7 days a week Develop and manage a capacity planning tool for resource scheduling purposes
  • Produce effective rolling day production schedules by production line & depot
  • Produce effective short (16 Week) Mid Term (112 Week) and Long Term (152 Week) reliable, improved forecasting schedules for use by cross functional teams
  • Integral to determining raw material allocation to specific production works orders to optimise capacity and yield, mitigating waste, residency and handling
  • In addition to capacity planning, you will drive operational and performance statistics to enable reporting that will help improve efficiency across depots.
  • Ensure resources fully available in agreed state, specification and on time to achieve agreed production schedules by production line and distribution efficiency
  • Manage customer liaison activities to implement day to day order changes and amendments,
  • Responsible for and communicating continuous demand forecasting and planning projections for raw material, labour, plant & machinery, packaging, transport and distribution to ensure customer order delivery on time in full.
  • Responsible to ensure accurate key data fields for stock units, customers, packhouse resources, and suppliers across Prophet & OAL
  • Agility to deliver agreed seasonal plans with short term tactical opportunities
  • Continuous process of challenge, refresh, update, reconciliation, communication, reporting and management of daily, weekly, seasonal demand forecasts, orders, yield and wastage
  • Data insights, experience, market knowledge and intelligence based forecasting which incorporates forecast error, cumulative bias, lift, new products, promotional, weather and seasonal volume variation.
  • Intuitively collaborate cross functionally with CI, Commercial, Procurement, Technical, Operations and Logistics to ensure cost effective, margin enhancing, smooth and efficient running of supply value chains and our UK production facilities with quality,value & product delivery at its core.
  • Manage agreed specific cross functional KPI's as a basis for monitoring and communicating effectiveness of resource planning function to drive operational excellence and efficiency improvements
  • Embrace change consistent with company values.

Resource Planning Manager requirements:


  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Highly proficient with IT systems
  • Clear communication and relationship management skills, internally aswell as with clients
  • Have a strong work ethic, numerate, analytical, with a results driven and logical approach.
  • A good commercial acumen and enjoy coordinating projects/driving change.
  • Resilient, responds well to pressure and manages emotions
  • Proven track record of resource planning capability within fast paced chilled supply value chain to major retailers in the UK
  • People management
  • Attention to detail and natural curiosity and capability in creating analytical insight,
  • Have a strong knowledge of forecasting methods and formulas
  • Expert skills in Excel for planning, modelling and scenario planning
  • Project management and strong reporting skills
