Working for Sport Republic, this is a key position responsible for all data and research for all Club's within the Sport Republic portfolio focusing on the recruitment and acquisition of first team players.

Sport Republic currently own Southampton Football Club in England and Gӧztepe Football Club in Turkey, however this portfolio will grow over time.

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for building and developing advanced proprietary data models to support decision making across all departments for example across coaching, scouting/recruitment, player development, sport science and the medical team.

You will need to work closely with the analysts and coaches within the Football Clubs to monitor the teams performances and create tactical insight in order to enhance the coaches knowledge and decision making based on data.

Along with this, you would manage and develop game model reporting and systems to track team performance, including creating post-match reports, six-game match reports, six game review sessions and board football reports.

You will oversee the development of team and player models to support the identification of talent across multiple clubs along with performing detailed due diligence to screen target players to support the recruitment decision making process.

You will ensure that dashboards and data visualisations are built and developed, along with supporting the development of data pipelines and database design, along with Sport Republic software systems, apps and databases.

Conducting ongoing research will be a fundamental part of this role in order to generate new insights that improve game model and scouting/recruitment operations alongside keeping up-to-date with all relevant technological advancements and data companies/providers.

You will line manage the Data Scientist and will support in identification and hiring of other data scientists and researchers.

Person Specification

Essential- Extensive experience of using data science to help drive decision making and solve business problems Advanced programming skills (R/Python).- Experience working with SQL databases.- Advanced knowledge of data science and statistics.

Desirable-Experience of working within an elite football environment with senior stakeholders including coaches, scouts and analysts.
