JOB PURPOSE


The Personal Care UK/EU Business Unit is a strategic priority for Unilever and Personal Care, having a transformational role in delivering top and bottom-line growth.

The Personal Care BU comprises DEOs, Skin Cleansing and Oral Care.


Given our growth ambitions we are seeking a passionate, curious and detail-oriented CTI technologist to join our SCL R&D team, working with iconic brands including Dove, Radox, and Lynx/Axe.


This exciting new role will lead workstreams focused on driving the next generation of Skin Cleansing innovations through generation & translation of deep consumer insights into superior claims & communications.

You will also work as part of our PC Europe CTI-Claims community, supporting the development of CTI-Claims functional excellence capabilities including the approaches, tools, methods, & measurements required to assert our leadership in Personal Care Europe.


RESPONSIBILITIES
The EU Skin Cleansing R&D CTI Claims Senior Technologist role will:

  • Act as a BU CTI Claim workstream leader for defined innovation projects, developing superior claims across channels underpinned by robust support strategies landed in partnership with Market R&D, Legal, and Regulatory teams.
  • Partner with BG Claims & BU/BG Marketing to develop superior claims roadmaps that influence brand innovation plans; enabled by creative language exploration, novel support strategy creation, & highquality claims testing approaches.
  • Lead Skin Cleansing EU Maximising Technology Impact (MTI) agenda cocreating compelling assets (demos, stories, content) to communicate our superior technologies & products to customers, consumers, influencers, professionals & academics.
  • Pioneer novel and agile insights research methodologies to build deeper understanding of our product performance profiles, unlocking new product design briefs for future innovation.
  • Partner with BU CMI to identify & translate consumer & shopper insights into product & packaging briefs for new innovations; based on combined analysis of trends, consumer needs, new technology impact on consumers, sensory data, strategic understanding projects etc.
  • Be open to learn & develop yourself: Build your future ready skills Be the storyteller and big data manager and more importantly be a part of the team & support every new member with your knowledge & expertise

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or higher in a Physical or Social Science field (e.g. Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Psychology).
  • Experience: relevant years working experience with a proven track record on delivery, ideally in Claims and/or Consumer Insights.
  • Excellent communicator/influencer with strong reasoning skills.
  • Proven track record of developing new consumer insights/claims & communication capabilities.
  • Experience of working globally in multidisciplinary, multicultural teams with strong crossfunctional collaboration skills.
  • Extensive experience of developing and landing complex claims support strategies, leveraging technical literature, sensory, consumer, and clinical test data.
  • Independently manage workstreams and time, with strong attention to detail.
