Description

We are seeking a Corporate and Information Governance Assistant to be part of our Corporate Governance and Information Team, which form part of Legal Services.


You will provide advice on Corporate and Information Governance issues, often from a legal perspective, help with the administration of the procedures relating to complaints against councillors and periodically may assist with investigations into councillor conduct.


You will also assist the Link Officer with the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman and be responsible for ensuring that matters referred by the Ombudsman are dealt with in a timely and accurate manner.

This is a varied and interesting role working within a small and friendly team. Support and training will be provided.

Applicants should have an understanding of the local government framework, and the democratic decision-making process.

Experience of providing advice on freedom of information and data protection as well as in relation to the ethical standards regime would be an advantage.


Applicants should ideally have recent significant experience in a legal office, or equivalent, or will hold a relevant legal or other relevant qualification.
