Purpose:


  • To provide a customerfacing, technicalfocused team ensuring food product quality and safety is both maintained and further developed

Main Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Act as technical expert across the Defence Food Team.
  • Specify products to meet the customer requirement across multiple suppliers.
  • Ensure products procured are safe, legal and compliant to Defence Food Quality Standards.
  • Identify and implement product innovation across the Core Ranges.
  • Manage taste panels and range reviews with suppliers and customers.
  • Manage and resolve day to day issues with suppliers timely and effectively.
  • Support the Category team with developing the sourcing strategy to meet business objectives.
  • Support strategic supplier negotiations.
  • Support the Quality Manager in tender evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation.
  • Optimise the Core Ranges for the benefit of the MOD.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:


  • Qualified to HNC or equivalent in a Food Science and Technology discipline.
  • QMS Knowledge.
  • Prior Quality Assurance or Product Development experience.
  • Computer literate experience in using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Based at Emersons Green we are now recruiting for a Category Manager working for TVS at the Team Leidos offices at Emersons Green in Bristol as part of a vibrant and dynamic team, committed to transforming the way the MOD works.


Please note we work on a hybrid model working at Emersons Green, Bristol Therefore, you must be located within reasonable commuting distance to Bristol.
