Job Purpose:


The Whole Hub Approach (WHA) to Mental Health (MH) Adviser will be a part of our Children and Young People (CYP) Services and will work to support our new KCW Mental Health Hub in Westminster to develop a whole hub approach to mental health.

This will involve working with education settings, after school clubs, embed Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health (EWMH) activities and events in the annual calendar and support young people age You will do so by delivering and creating a set of workshops for children and young people, across the schools and youth clubs in WCC.

The aim of the service is to deliver a service that meets identified needs and gaps in EWMH provision and to promote a culture that is supportive of EWMH for all stakeholders, within the model of a whole hub approach to MH

We are looking for a:


Whole Hub Approach (WHA) to Mental Health (MH) Advisor who will be a part of our Children and Young People (CYP) Services, and will work to support the newly established Mental Health Hub in Westminster.


We have an opportunity for you to join our exciting CYP service working with children and young people and their parents/carers and to develop a whole hub approach to mental health.

This will involve working with education settings after school clubs, embed Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health activities and events in the annual calendar and support young people aged 11-25.

You will:


  • Support the development of service processes and procedures and service startup
  • Deliver and create a set of workshops for children and young people, across the afterschool and youth clubs.
  • Lead on the coproduction (forum) for children and young people.
  • To support the implementation of Mental Health Hub surveys and analysis of results
  • To carry out audits of existing EWMH interventions and activities in the school and youth clubs and identify gaps and needs, and present the results of survey/audit analysis to stakeholders
  • To carry out regular checkins and reviews to keep action plan targets and processes on track
  • To support schools after school clubs and youth hubs to embed EWMH in their academic calendar, by reviewing calendars and identifying timelines, activities and events to keep EWMH on the agenda, raise awareness and combat stigma
  • To promote coproduction with all school stakeholders (Governors, Senior Leadership Team, education staff, parents/carers, children and young people) in the development of action plans, policies and procedures.
  • To facilitate group discussions amongst stakeholders
  • To deliver psychoeducation workshops to parents/guardians/families
  • To create, compile and circulate a monthly YP newsletter that will be sent to all stakeholders
  • To manage the spreadsheet overlooking the Whole Hub Approach delivery (overlooking the amount of workshops/assemblies/group interventions provided)
  • To support stakeholder engagement with students, parents and the school workforce so that there is buyin and support for the process
  • To raise safeguarding alerts and work with partners to ensure that young people are effectively safeguarded
  • To support other CYP Services service delivery, when required
  • To support the development of CYP tools, materials and services (collate/structure these, research other approaches and develop other supportive materials)
  • To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the WHA services delivered
  • To input into quarterly monitoring reports to funders when necessary
  • To keep administrative processes and databases up to date
  • To follow organisational policies and procedures
  • To maintain and nurture a positive working relationship with partners
  • To attend regular group and 1:1 supervision, as well as team and staff meetings
  • To attend mandatory inhouse and relevant external training opportunities, to support capacity development
