Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Construction Planner to join a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor in Birmingham. They are an international business specialising in new build, fit-out, and technology across multiple build sectors including education,commercial, retail, leisure, trading and media.
**The Construction Planner will provide timely effective and professional planning services for proposals and project delivery
- within the construction division.**
Responsibilities

  • Integration into project teams
  • Liaise with clients and external planning consultants
  • Provide planning services to projects and proposals
  • Lead programme meetings whether internally or presenting to clients
  • Set up end to end programmes from appointment to commissioning and close out
  • Set up and manage auditable trails of programmes
  • Collate and validate project progress and report to the Planning Manager and Divisional Director
  • Contribute to the efficient way the department is run by feeding lessons learnt and innovation back into the department
  • Understand what makes each project tick and establish programmes around key milestones
  • Critical Path analysis
  • Identify and manage project risk
  • Ability to contribute to problem solving

Skills & Experiences
-
Construction related Degree:


  • Understanding of planning and rescheduling techniques
  • Knowledge of the full project cycle and any relative constraints
  • Strategic and "big picture" thinker
  • Software operations relevant to job role [Asta/Elecosoft Powerproject, MS Project]
  • Experience of being involved in the planning & proposals process within the fit out/Construction industry
  • Presentation skills
  • Planning experience in a range of business sectors including: education, trading, retail, leisure, corporate and media
  • Ability to manage own workload
  • Understanding of M&E infrastructure
  • Proficient in graphical presentation of programmes and logistics for proposals and project use.
