The role of the Credit Control Team Leader will be to provide support to the Credit Control Manager in the delivery of the Credit Control function for UK market.


You will be an integral part of the team, supporting with both the day-to-day Credit Control duties as well as working closely with the Credit Manager to maximize team performance and build relationships across the business.


AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES:

  • Direction setting, monitoring and reviewing the team activity implementing ideas and processes to ensure high performance of the credit management function;
  • Building effective business relationships with internal departments and external customers to maximise cash collection whilst minimising risks;
  • Investigation and resolution of credit risks and problem accounts, reviewing and managing issues and significant transactions;
  • Training, Development and Coaching of Credit Control Team;
  • Motivating and supporting the learning and development of your team
  • Regular meetings with direct reports to include goal setting and performance reviews
  • Performance Reporting;
  • First point of escalation on nonresolved accounts
  • Managing existing end of collection path process and escalating
  • Lead projects and assist with testing when required

TECHNICAL SKILLS
- have previous management experience within a credit control department and possess a working knowledge of credit control procedures;
- be an influential team player with the ability to build working relationships and communicate effectively across the business, including working closely with customer service and sales teams;
- have the ability to build successful relationships with external customers and resolve complex issues on a timely basis;
- be someone that positively embraces change and can demonstrate previous success in driving improvements to credit risk management and operating procedures;
- be proactive and reliable with a positive, flexible working attitude;
- have the ability to set tough but achievable targets for the team and monitor progress towards those targets;
- be highly skilled in prioritising tasks with the ability to perform to a high standard under pressure and consistently meet deadlines;
- possess excellent analytical skills to identify key trends and risks and formulate appropriate solutions;
- have full working knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong excel skills and ideally experience with SAP; and
- preferably have Wholesale/Retail experience.
