Due to the growth of the business a new opportunity has become available for a Membership Team Leader, with a background in financial services, to join our team here in Leicester.

Main purposes of the role - Responsible for the Membership Team


To manage the activities of the Membership department to deal with onboarding of members and advisers, check ongoing fitness and propriety and dealing with termination of membership / authorisations.

To co-ordinate the risk management procedures and risk reviews.


Key Tasks of a Membership Team Leader:

  • Management of the Membership Team, including coaching, 1:1's, training and performance reviews to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills
  • Manage maintenance of the Membership database to accurately record status and permission levels
  • Management of ongoing fitness and propriety of members and advisers
  • Processing suspensions and terminations and dealing with references for exited members and advisers
  • Conduct checks to ensure complete documentation for membership have been assessed and retained to the appropriate database and filing systems
  • Produce reports and maintain records of activities specified by Senior Management
  • Report wilful misrepresentation and/or false documentation to the Compliance Director and agree appropriate remedial action
  • To maintain ongoing competency through development of personal training plans in conjunction with Compliance Director
  • Coordination of risk management procedures and reviews
  • This list is not exhaustive and other relevant duties will be undertaken in relation to the job.

Qualifications / Experience Required

  • CeMAP / equivalent professional financial services qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in financial services
  • Demonstrable supervisory skills including managing and coaching
  • Process / Compliance background
  • Good team player, but with a definite ability to work under own initiative
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a customer focused attitude.
  • Confident and assured manner when presenting the Proposition, whilst maintaining an honest style that promotes the customercentric ethos of the Network
  • Highly selfmotivated and with strong personal discipline to meet key objectives and drive a key area of the business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to analyse information with a view to making informed decisions
  • Knowledge of systems of control and able to follow clearly defined procedures
  • Experience of working under pressure, prioritising and working to tight deadlines
