Salary:
around £28, £31, depending on experience) + generous benefits package


Hours:
Full time, 37.5h/week


Locations Based in Headland Midlands & West (Hereford), South & East (Silsoe), Scotland (Edinburgh) or Yorkshire & North (Cleckheaton).


Contract Type:
Permanent

The Role


We are launching our paperless recording system at scale and as a result from April 2023 with our anticipated workload we will be strengthening our data team within Headland.

We are seeking an individual who can help us develop and support our fieldwork team and deliver our services.

You will be self-driven with a positive outlook and good understanding of British Archaeology.

You will have some experience in data management in archaeology and capable of overseeing data management activities across the company with assistance from the Senior Data Officer.

You will also have some experience in managing the performance and morale of small teams, and will be expected to build the support and resources you require to meet your targets.

- and field-based work and you will be supported by our Senior Data Officer and overseen by the Technical Services Manager. You must be willing to travel as required to fulfil the requirements of the role. You will also work closely with the Survey and GIS teams within the Technical Services team to help make sure our contracting data is to the highest possible standard.

You must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Enthusiasm for introducing new ideas and improving existing processes
  • Experience of supporting site teams and providing training, feedback and troubleshooting
  • Suitable technical skills: Sound understanding of archaeological recording; data tidying and presentation. Technical support of tablets and other computer equipment on site.
  • Full clean UK driving licence and willingness to drive company vehicles
  • Willingness to travel and work on projects across the UK
  • A sound understanding of the Microsoft 365 suite, including advanced Excel knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative to achieve targets
  • Attention to detail and a track record of bringing projects to completion
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Capable of independent working and workload management
  • A desire to work with a team, develop and learn
  • Willing to embrace inclusion and diversity
  • Willingness to develop your people skills
  • Programming, database management, a valid CSCS card, SSSTS/SMSTS and CIfA membership are desirable criteria._
