To support this we have an exciting new opportunity for a Violence and Aggression Risk Reduction Co-coordinator who will be based within the Health and Safety Team.

The post will be based at Queens Medical Centre but will work across all sites.


The postholder will have responsibility for ensuring safe systems of work are in place and providing expert technical advice coupled with supporting and delivering training interventions throughout NUH.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities


JOB SUMMARY


Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust has identified the management and reduction of Aggression, Violence and Harassment (AVH) as a priority area for action.


An resulting AVH Action Plan was presented to Management Board where the actions and investment were approved including the implementation of this post.


The postholder will play a key role in the implementation of the AVH Action Plan and will work to develop the internal training offering for staff as part of the ongoing risk reduction programme.


The post holder will be expected to work closely with the H&S Team, with colleagues in the Corporate Nursing and Learning & Organisational Development Teams to secure delivery.


We are looking for someone with a training background who possesses excellent organisational and influencing to coordinate and support the ensure the delivery of this important area of work.


KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
***To support the Associate Director of Health & Safety and Resilience and Health and Safety Manager in delivering the AVH action plan across all areas of the Trust.


Work with Divisional and Corporate Directorate colleagues to agree a Training Need Analysis (TNA) for all training that falls within the AVH Action Plan.


Work with internal and external trainers to coordinate the agreed programmes of AVH training including Induction, Breakaway and Managing Challenging Behaviour.


Work with and through the departmental administrator to ensure that rooms and equipment are available to support the training including the sharing of attendance records.


Support the Associate Director of Health & Safety and Resilience and Health and Safety Manager in ensuring that all training is recorded onto the Trusts ESR/OLM system and that reports are produced to demonstrate delivery against the TNA.


In conjunction with the Associate Director of Health & Safety and Resilience undertake periodic reviews of staff feedback and link in with trainers where performance is substandard.


To attend meetings as required or to provide information to the Trust Health & Safety Committee on progress against the AVH Action Plan.


To link with colleagues in Security in order to ensure that any training delivered to Security staff is commensurate and inline with the training provided under the AVH Action Plan.

To support divisional leads to ensure the release of staff to attend programmed training.


To maintain an up to date understanding of the relevant Health & Saftey policies and guidance relating to AVH including the forthcoming Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) standards.


To be able to monitor and analyse AVH data from a variety of forms, including Datix to help assess the success of actions taken.


To be aware of the AVH Action Plan budget and work with the Associate Director of Health & Safety and Resilience and Health and Safety Manager to make sure the funding available is spent wisely and to best effect.


Assist in and provide advice regarding implementation of all elements contained within the AVH action plan and general health & safety compliance.


To respond promptly and appropriately to enquiries and requests for information and advice made either in person, by correspondence or over the telephone.
