Job Introduction
BBC Yorkshire is a leading broadcaster based in Leeds producing the most watched television news programme in Yorkshire. We broadcast to some of Britain's biggest and most diverse cities

  • Leeds, Sheffield, Bradford
- and also report from some of its most beautiful countryside. We pride ourselves in making creative and engaging television, radio and online material. We are looking for a creative and motivated individual to join our combined news team.

Main Responsibilities

While working to Look North across a range of duties, we are specifically looking for someone with experience in programme timing.

You'll be able to use your skills to assist the director in keeping interviews to time and ultimately the program within its allowed duration.

You'll also be responsible for logging music output and trails, operating autocue, making line bookings, co-ordinating production facilities, contribute innovative programme ideas and research guests and topics.

You'll need an ability to meet deadlines, prioritise a busy workload, operate under pressure and work effectively as part of a team.

Training will be available so don't worry if you don't meet all the above requirements.

You will have an interest in current affairs and a knowledge of television production techniques. You need to be flexible in your approach to work and good at multi-tasking.

About the BBC
We don't focus simply on what we do - we also care how we do it. Our values and the way we behave are important to us. Please make sure you've read about our values and behaviours in the document attached below.

Diversity matters at the BBC.

We have a working environment where we value and respect every individual's unique contribution, enabling all of our employees to thrive and achieve their full potential.

We want to attract the broadest range of talented people to be part of the BBC - whether that's to contribute to our programming or our wide range of non-production roles.

The more diverse our workforce, the better able we are to respond to and reflect our audiences in all their diversity.
