Applications are invited from software development and IT professionals for the above position primarily located within Bangor University's Clinical Trials Unit (NWORTH) and with integration into Digital Services.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative and successful team engaged in the rewarding task of supporting clinical trials of complex interventions that inform clinical practice and have a positive impact on healthcare policy and patient outcomes, whilst being integrated with the University's central services.

The postholder will be expected to provide advice and design expertise when new systems are required.

They will implement new software and modify existing software in a controlled manner, with an emphasis on automated testing and software integrity.


The postholder will design, develop and implement clinical IT systems, including web-based systems, relational databases and current trial data management software (in particular Ennov MACRO and REDCap) to support trials (and other rigorous quantitative studies) in the design and management of data capture, analysis, dissemination and archiving.

You will be working with a wide variety of CTU and trial staff including statisticians, quality assurance officers, trial managers, clinicians, research nurses and data entry clerks therefore excellent communication skills are essential.

You will contribute to the ongoing review and development of the IT function's Standard Operating Procedures and service improvements and will provide regular reports to the CTU Director, CTU Manager and Core Operations Group.

The role is full-time. Applications will also be considered to carry out this role on a part-time or job share basis.
