JOB OVERVIEW


Leeds International Study Centre are looking for a Progression and Student Success Coach to join their friendly team in Leeds.

In this role you will be part of the Progression team and as part of the wider Student Support Team, working with the existing Progression and Student Success Coaches as a personal tutor and supporting the progression needs of students.

You will need to be highly organised, with strong ICT skills and a background in student support.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acting as a Coach delivering weekly Progression and Student Success (PASS) tutorials to your tutor groups
  • Design and create learning materials around study skills, welfare topics and employability for Progression and Student Success tutorials
  • Update and maintain the virtual learning environment and embed alternative digital learning technologies into delivery
  • Provide 1:1 personal development, welfare support and academic and progression counselling to students
  • Monitor the academic engagement of students
  • To put interventions in place in relation to attendance
  • Track student performance, liaise with the academic team to identify suitable intervention strategies, and ensure performance and progression records are maintained
  • Monitor, track and provide reports on student destination offers and assist students in finding alternative choices where they do not meet their progression requirements
  • Assist in monitoring any Agreed Support Plans for students
  • Ensure the safeguarding of students in line with centre policy and monitoring the outofhours emergency phone on a rota basis and assist in ensuring the wellbeing of under 18's through the daily checkin process
  • Assist in organising and delivering student induction, including ensuring UKVI compliance requirements are met through document checks and data inputting

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience working in a student support setting, ideally with international students, or other similar setting
  • Experience in providing advice and guidance to students or clients
  • Experience working with students for whom English is a second language is desirable
  • Experience in delivering workshops or classes is desirable
  • Experience in creating materials for delivery is desirable
