Key Duties- Management of two Accountants within the Finance team, continuing to develop their skills and competencies accordingly.
- Ensure accurate and timely month end reporting for two shared service companies, including:
- Reconciliation and true up of bank accounts and other items of working capital.
- Maintenance of fixed asset register, including posting of depreciation, additions, and disposals
- Review and posting of payroll journals, including liaison with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure the information received is correctly coded and allocated.
- Allocation and recharge of corporate costs to other entities.
- Reconciliation of intercompany charges and agreement of balances
- Oversight of the invoicing of fees to other entities by the Accounts Receivable team
- Maintain clean general ledgers, ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled fully and reconciling items are addressed and cleared on a timely basis.
- Review and update the shared services allocations based on discussions with department heads on a quarterly basis.
- Present monthly budget vs actual financial analysis to shared service department heads.
- Prepare quarterly cashflow statements as required for group reporting.
- Produce the annual shared services business plans and quarterly reforecasts. Present to senior management and business group finance leads.
- Establish strong understanding of the organisations LTIP and Fund compensation schemes. Liaise with global HR & Finance to define processes for recognition and cashflows.
- Proactively manage Company cashflows and ensure sufficient funding is in place to meet operational needs and surplus funds are placed on deposit.
- Review monthly Company and Group VAT returns, providing advice to the VAT group members as required.
- Prepare and submit other tax and statutory returns as required, such as PAYE Settlement Agreement return, and Office for National Statistics returns.
- Lead the annual statutory financial statements preparation and audit for both shared service companies.
- Management of the employee expense reimbursement system, internal processes, and controls
- Other ad hoc tasks as required, with a particular focus on improving processes and systems.
- An accounting qualification from a recognised accounting body, 3+ years PQE
- Strong academic background, degree educated, minimum of 2:1 degree.
- Selfmotivated with the ability to work independently.
- Effective oral and written communication
- Deadline oriented, good time management and organisational skills.
- Highly competent in the fundamentals of accounting
- Meticulous and strong attention to detail
- Previous experience of managing a small team
