About the role:

As a Senior Team Member for Site Services within our Neville Hill TrainCare Centre (TCC), you'll be instrumental in keeping depot plant equipment running smoothly and ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and comply with safety regulations.

You'll be entrusted with overseeing the maintenance, repair, and optimisation of buildings, equipment, and utilities within our TCC.

You'll report to the Engineering Facilities Manager at Neville Hill TCC and work alongside our maintenance team members. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring optimal plant equipment availability.

This involves implementing proactive maintenance strategies to minimise downtime, conducting regular inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate, and swiftly addressing any malfunctions or breakdowns that occur.

It's an exciting time to join our engineering team, as we are transforming and developing skill sets, to help us get the right people, on the right units, at the right time.

You'll need to work a range of shifts, from the early hours of the morning and including nights, plus weekends and Bank Holidays, it's vital that you're flexible and that you live within 60 minutes' drive of our Neville Hill TCC.

If this sounds like your thing, we'd love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities:

This is a varied and challenging role, but here is a taste of what your day-to-day activities could include:

  • Regular services, maintenance, and repairs on our plant machinery, to keep things running as smoothly as possible
  • Conducting emergency repairs to our high standards, to ensure the safety and reliability of our infrastructure, is our top priority
  • Ensuring the equipment is readily available for all team members, enhancing the overall efficiency in completing tasks on time
  • Prioritising your daily workload to ensure daily targets are met in a timely manner, is essential for maintaining productivity and meeting organisational goals effectively.

About you:

Ideally you will be qualified with an NVQ Level 3 or a recognised apprenticeship and have good technical knowledge covering electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Ideally this would include 18th Edition electrical qualifications.

  • We would also like to see a demonstration of your ability to successfully complete further competency training, as required. What's really important is an ability to work as part of a team and to be able to think on your feet, in sometimes demanding situations.

We're also looking for the following:

  • The ability to prioritise and be adaptable when things can change as well as managing your day to day workload
