**Commercial Director - Commercial Offices

Purpose of the Role


Reporting to the Commercial Offices Managing Director also with a functional line reporting to the Executive Commercial Director, the Commercial Director will be accountable for developing, seeking approval to and successfully implementing the operational commercial plan to drive performance within the sector and to support the creation of a dynamic commercial culture, focused on driving profitability in line with our strategic objectives.

The role will also have a key focus in articulating SRM credentials and sector experience in pursuit of new projects, with existing and target clients, building and nurturing relationships, in conjunction with the Managing Director, with key individuals.


The role is responsible for leading the commercial function within the Commercial Offices sector with an anticipated turnover of over £300m this year.

You will be part of a wider commercial leadership team including legal, bid management and procurement.

Key Accountabilities

  • Member of the Commercial Offices Management Team and collectively accountable for the delivery of the Sector operational plan.
  • Assumes accountability for structuring commercial models that will deliver Sector profitability and growth in line with the operational plan.
  • The successful implementation of key client account plans across the sector.
  • Ensuring that the agreed sector proposition is effectively executed in every aspect of client engagement and driven through the entire solution.
  • Ensure that delivery is in line with approved budgets.
  • Act within our family values and culture. This is a 'One SRM' approach one business with one shared purpose.
  • Build deep and trusting relationship with key stakeholders (internally and externally) to drive commercial success in work winning and to leverage our special partnership approach to secure high levels of repeat and negotiated business.
  • Ensure compliance with risk, assurance and governance to minimise risk and to enhance client solutions.
  • Undertake a robust critique of potential opportunities in respect of their viability (sector fit, operational and commercial).
  • Ensure the sharing of knowledge and best practice across the Sector to enable SRM to adopt a consistent approach to work winning and project delivery.
