An opportunity has arisen for an highly motivated, confident, organised and experienced Risk Management Systems Assistant -Job Share will be consideredwho has an in-depth knowledge of the Datix Risk Management Systems to work within the Risk and Compliance Directorate at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.


This is a demanding position whereby the post holder is required to provide effective administrative and secretarial support to the Health and Safety and Risk Teams.


The post is a permanent post within the Risk Management Department, an IOSH qualification or equivalent is required in addition to experience and an in-depth knowledge of the Datix Risk Management System.

The post holder will provide cross cover and support to the Legal & Datix Manager and Senior Datix Manager as required.


The post holder will be part of the Datix Management team contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of the Trust's operational risk management strategy, Health and Safety policy and related work and they will provide the Trust with specialist advice and guidance on Health and Safety matters.


An exciting opportunity has become available to work within the Risk and Compliance Directorate working to the Senior Datix Manager supporting the management of the Trust's Risk Management System (Datix).

The post requires a dynamic individual with good experience of risk, incident, and legal principles and will regularly deal with the analysis and reporting of large quantities of data and information.

The post-holder will manage the administration, improvement and analysis of the Datix Risk Management System, including:

  • Ensuring complete and accurate information is on the system
  • System maintenance and improvement of the Trusts Datix system
  • Quality assuring data to ensure accurate reporting
  • Supporting staff through training, including developing, providing and presenting training materials
  • Creating adhoc and routine Datix reports/dashboards based on information extracted from the Datix system.
  • Supporting the Business Units to manage incidents and risks in line with policy requirements.
  • Providing a data analyst function with a high level of knowledge/confidence in the use of the Risk Management system (Datix) and other ITT systems/software (e.g. MS Office Suite) and be the responsible person and contact in all related queries/issues associated with the system to provide expert support & guidance to system users.
  • Attending meetings to represent the team and/or present reports/analysis.

To support the Legal & Datix Manager/Senior Datix Manager to access and collate incident reporting activity as required. To identify trends and highlight these to appropriate persons with the Risk Management Team.


To assist in the preparation of complex reports using data from the Datix Risk Management System on behalf of the Legal & Datix Manager/Senior Datix Manager.


To assist and support the Legal & Datix Manager/Senior Datix Manager in the development of the Datix Risk Management System.

To promote a culture where managing risk is recognised as integral to safe and effective service delivery.


To assist in the development and ongoing review of the Trust and directorate strategies, policies and procedures in the management of risk.


To support the Health and Safety advisors with health and safety activity for all Essex and Secure Services premises where Trust staff are working, and assist with ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation, negotiating action plans and monitoring actions are completed.


To visit service delivery units Trust wide as required, undertaking inspections and providing specialist advice on compliance with health and safety legislation to managers.
