Hours of work: 40 hrs/week, five days out of seven


Responsible to:
Café Manager


Role Purpose:

Wentworth Woodhouse is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support our hospitality and café business. In the past year, the tearoom offer has expanded significantly. The house has new kitchens, bar, as well as hot and cold garden food offers. We are a seven-day week business and are working towards a significant hospitality operation. You will be part of a team delivering an exceptional customer service and food offering. The role requires flexibility and adaptability. The role will require regular weekend work.


Role Duties

  • Working within the pot wash area
  • Ensure all equipment and utensils are washed and put away to the standards required
  • Deep clean the kitchen and equipment
  • General cleaning and tidying of the café area and dry store areas
  • Ensure that all COSHH, Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements are adhered to
  • Support the running of functions and special events
  • Attend meetings and training as and when required
  • Carry out any other duties requested

Person Specification

Essential

  • Willingness to work in a busy food service environment
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Ability to manage a number of tasks and remain calm.
  • Demonstrate great customer service
  • The ability to follow instructions but also act on own initiative
  • Smart appearance and confident in dealing with the public.
  • Remain calm in a busy environment
  • Be a people person with the ability to show respect, empathy, and care to all team members

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a busy food service environment
