Job location:
Lincolnshire

Shifts:
Mornings/ Afternoons rotating (06.00am pm then 14.00pm pm)

Rates:
£24.28 Umbrella per hour plus optional (whilst on shift)

Overtime:
Over 40 hours in the week and Saturday available - £37.26 per hour umbrella per hour
Hours per week: 40 hours per week plus overtime

Client Summary:


One of the UKs leading manufacturer and front line supplier of powertrain products and rolling stock based in the UK and Ireland.

Areas of expertise include Motor Overhaul, final Drive Overhaul and refurbishment of rail vehicles.

Position Summary:
Stripping bogies/underframes and re-profiling wheel sets within the Rail industry. You will be working in teams to breakdown mechanical systems and then rebuild.

Roles can include:

  • Motor and component strip down components and rebuild.
  • With mínimal supervision undertake overhaul and repair of the allocated wheelsets / bogies/components adhering to the requisite processes and procedures
  • Working from engineering drawings to replace and refit components.

Person Profile/Experience:

  • A strong mechanical background is required.
  • People from HGV / large engine's / rolling stock assembly / REME / automation etc. backgrounds ideal.
  • Understanding of hydraulics / pneumatics in plant or heavy goods would be ideal.
  • Experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering or process environment
  • Experience of basic fault finding
  • Ability to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures
  • Ability to understand and care for tools, equipment and PPE
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety including bio hazards, manual handling and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
  • Ability to use a computer
  • Ability to understand and interpret relevant technical publications
  • Good attitude and willing to work flexibly (overtime available)

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or similar in engineering)
