SME Accounts Manager (Accountancy Practice)

Manchester

Up to £50,000


Butler Rose are pleased to be working with one of the UK's leading independent accountancy practices with offices in Manchester, Blackburn, Birmingham and London.

This firm have been providing support and advice to clients for over 100 years and have a greatreputation built on providing quality services.

The role is full-time, although part-time may be considered for the right individual.


The Role:


  • Efficient management of a portfolio of several hundred contractor clients with responsibility for accounting and corporation tax compliance matters including filings at Companies House and HMRC.
  • Carrying out client meetings and advising them on general accounting, tax and business matters.
  • Speaking to potential new clients, from leads generated by the firm's marketing initiatives and client recommendations, with a view to securing their custom.
  • Supervision and training of staff and the carrying out of file reviews.
  • Qualified ACA or ACCA.
  • Thorough knowledge of current small company and micro entity accounting rules.
  • Working knowledge of IR35 tax rules.
  • Ability to deal with Value Added Tax matters, including the preparation of quarterly returns, registrations and filings.
  • Excellent people skills with both clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in using the IRIS and Digita suites of accounting and tax software would be an advantage.
  • Experience of FreeAgent and Xero cloud bookkeeping software would be an advantage
