What You'll Be Doing

  • As an assistant Range planner, you will support the Range Planning Manager and work as part of the UK commercial team responsible for delivering range analysis and understanding for all product categories within the UK. The goal is to ensure that our product ranges are developed cohesively, delivering against both company and customer expectations. This is a critical role in achieving our strategy of the ultimate gifting companion ensuring that we deliver the perfect card range and most relevant attach for all customer missions in an efficient and profitable way.

Key responsibilities include:


  • Regularly monitor and summarise key performance indicators, highlighting anomalies/deviations from trend and analyse causes/correlations
  • Forecasting for seasonal peaks, OTB and commercial planning
  • Aligning with the wider range strategies build frameworks for ranges in both Cards, Gifts & Flowers
  • Regular analysis of the price architecture of the range ensuring this aligns with the customers demands and is delivering our KPI's
  • Support the Buying Director on weekly and monthly trading analysis to drive trading decisions and longer term initiatives
  • KPI reporting and tracking with proactive solutions to improve on a weekly basis
  • Regular review of our competitors ranges covering, size, structure and purpose.
  • Maintaining insight on delivery and product pricing across the competition.
  • Develop and implement range strategies: You will work closely with the buying and merchandising teams to develop and implement range strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the buying team to identify range gaps and suggest solutions that meet customer needs and align with the company's overall strategy.
  • Analyse data to identify trends and opportunities, making recommendations to the buying team to improve sales performance and to identify areas for growth.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of product ranges, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for change.
  • Using data to plan the number of SKUs and stock holding needed for all new ranges giving clear direction of any changes to the core SKUS ensuring stock value is on target and risk is mitigated

What does success look like:


  • A clear purpose for all ranges across cards, gifts and Flowers that the business can align on
  • Clear reporting that drives challenge and change across the business in both the short and long term
  • Improved sales and profitability performance for all product ranges
  • New range launches for peak and all year round that ensure we have a range for all missions
  • Increased performance of all ranges in terms of agreed KPis such as stock turn, attach rate per mission, etc

About you:


  • Highly analytical
  • Ability to build forecasting models in Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with commercial teams.
  • Commercial acumen
  • Experience of analysing promotions and price changes.
  • Used to a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness, creativity, and a real passion for the Moonpig brand
  • Passion for growing and transforming a business with data and analytics.
  • Willing to challenge, present finding of analysis and suggest new ideas for growth
