Description

Business Support Officer
The Business Support Officer is based in the North Harrow office. Within the role, you will be undertaking admin tasks and supporting the team.


You will be required to promote the company values, qualities and standards to ensure a professional service and good quality service with the aim of achieving outstanding outcomes for children.

You will work within the legislative and regulatory framework and working closely with local authorities, including current Safeguarding and Child Protection Legislation, Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards and Guidance.


Qualifications and Requirements

  • 2 years' + experience in administrative area
  • Experience of working in fostering

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of the statutory and procedural framework of children
  • Knowledge and understanding of the implications of the framework for child care practice and the implications for the foster care setting.
  • Knowledge of the needs and qualities of a multiracial, culturally and ethnically diverse community.
  • Knowledge and understanding of how discrimination and disadvantage impacts upon children and their family.
  • Knowledge and understanding of multidisciplinary work.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles and practise of working in partnership.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To order office equipment.
  • Maintain signing in sheets of staff and visitors
  • Meet and greet people coming to Rainbow for meetings.
  • Keep track of Diary by liaising with all members of staff
  • Keep records on who has keys to office and itinerary of equipment for staff.
  • Managing outward and inward correspondence for Rainbow
  • Answer incoming calls & divert accordingly, take messages for staff.
  • Day to day running of the office.
  • Organising Events and refreshments/products
  • Conducting health and safety for the building.
  • To arrange and keep records of support groups, events and meetings.
  • Minute taking for team meetings and any other meetings as required.
  • Present verbally, written information clearly and concisely
  • To assist with the recruitment process for staff and potential clients.
  • Instigate STATS check for foster carers as well as new staff members as required.
  • To assist with the monitoring of compliance
  • To keep comprehensive records of work undertaken within agreed timescales in line with company policies and procedures.
  • To keep all confidential data secure.
  • Attends and participates in meetings, annual performance reviews, Ofsted Inspections and team events.
  • Liaise with Rainbow Fostering placements, social workers, professionals, working in partnership with as appropriate and build positive working relationships with carers, children and local authorities.
  • Record all conversations with carers, local authority and social workers on Health and Social E care as well as recording referrals on Health and Social E care immediately
  • Working flexibly to offer an appropriate level of support outside of normal working hours, if required, and providing out of hours' duty cover on a rota basis.
  • Assist with local recruitment activities and instigating relevant checks according to Rainbow recruitment guides and policy.
  • Contribute to the development of the organisation and to the improvement of standards and quality assurance.
  • Provide an excellent quality service which promotes equality, diversity and rights for all children and people associated with the service.
  • Support team members to work as a team and on own, liaise and carry out tasks as requested by line manager.
  • Undertake any other broadly similar duties as and when required by the Senior Management

It is the nature of work of Rainbow Fostering Services that tasks and responsibilities are, in many circumstances, unpredictable and varied. All staff is therefore expected to work in a flexible way when the occasion arises where tasks are not specifically covered in the Job Description and have to be undertaken.

£25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
