Safe System of Work Controller (24 Month Contract)
Location:
Whitehaven, Cumbria
The
Energy Division at
ARM are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a
Safe System of Work Controller to work long-term on a contract basis with a leading civil engineering client in the Nuclear industry.
What you'll be doing
-
Working on a BEP JV related project:
- Promote and ensure Nuclear Safety, Conventional, Radiological, environmental and security standards are upheld and demonstrate positive compliance with site standards, processes and procedures and incorporate delivery or a key role.
- Formally appointed role as Safe System of work Controller
- Participate in stakeholder meetings & agrees standards of work packs.
- Review risk assessments
- Act on behalf of Construction or Commissioning Manager for oversight & coordination of work within the facility
- Act on behalf of Construction or Commissioning Manager for oversight of plant configuration changes for the duration that a permit to work is in force.
- Independent verification of plant isolation's
- Carry out plant walk downs to ensure risk assessments are being adhered to
- Maintains competency training for appointed key roles
- Participates in PLOD/PLON.
What do you need to succeed?
- Experience in either operations, maintenance, construction or commissioning.
- Understanding of radiological and/or conventional safety regulations.
- Robust at dealing with conflict & problem solving
- Understanding of plant isolation processes.
- Experience of preparing/reviewing of Risk Assessments.
- Ability to complete IOSH training (or equivalent)
Details of the contract
- 24 Months Contract
- Paying up to £49.00 p/h (Inside IR35/Umbrella)
- Based on site at Sellafield
