Applications are invited for the post of a Locum Consultant in Haematology (with an interest in Leukaemia and Bone Marrow Transplantation) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to commence from 05 April 2023 until 22 October 2023.


This 10 PA post is based at Addenbrookes which is at the heart of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, the largest centre for biomedical research in Europe.


The post has a specific focus on acute leukaemia (including teenage and young adults), myeloma and allogeneic bone marrow transplantation, but will also provide cover for patients undergoing CAR-T.


The post holder will take part in the Haemato-Oncology on-call rota and the inpatient attending service (attending for allogeneic bone marrow transplant and cellular therapy).

The role also requires close collaboration with regional hospital colleagues.

Strong links exist between the clinical service, the academic department and the Haemato-Oncology Diagnostic Service; there are numerous teaching and research opportunities throughout the department.


Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
