  • Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose

  • To carry out a range of training in NDT inspection techniques on components, pipework and structural assemblies etc, in order to establish acceptability to specification and support visual inspection assessments.
  • To learn and qualify on how to carry out the most effective NDT techniques to components requiring inspection.

Functions

  • Ensure that work area is safe to carry out NDT activities.
  • Carry out risk assessments/Take II as required.
  • Ensure inspection is carried out within the parameters of the applicable specification.
  • Evaluate results of the test in accordance with applicable specification
  • Produce a clear and concise report detailing the methods used in and results of the inspection.
  • Carry out work in a timely and efficient manner to meet deadlines, changing priorities when the situation requires.
  • Carry out work in accordance with Oceaneering operating procedures and statutory/client specifications and requirements.
  • Undertake any other duties of a reasonable nature as required by Management.
  • Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems

Training - NDT training as per business requirements and working towards engineering qualifications in accordance with industry recognized qualification (API and EEMUA). As well as academic qualifications (HNC/HND/ BEng) in mechanical engineering under the mentorship of our engineering departments.


Safety - Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems
.

  • Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.
  • Eliminate waste of whatever form, suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices; and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities


The list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake tasks that may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.


  • Assist with any other duties as and when required.
  • Undertake specific projects as instructed by management.

Qualifications

Preferred For Apprentices - P - **GCSE pass in English, Math's, and Science


REQUIRED AFTER TRAINING

  • PCN / ASNT Qualification is MPI-DPIUltrasonics-Radiography

DESIRED

  • Further Training and Qualifications will be required or given to support the operations of the branch and business requirements.
  • Engineering training and development in accordance with industry code requirements, such as, API and EEMUA.
  • Academic Engineering qualifications, such as, HNC/HND and Degree supported.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Share information from management with employees and others as appropriate.
  • Give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Ensure that others involved in a project or effort are kept informed about developments and plans.
  • Ensure that regular consistent communication takes place within area of responsibility.
  • Valid UK Driving License
  • Undergo and pass a medical examination.
  • Good working and understanding of Microsoft packages i.e., Word and Excel
This position is considered SITE WORK which is characterized as follows.

  • Outdoor and indoor during the day and occasionally at night
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust, oil, gas, petrochemicals as controlled by various clients.
  • Working with Radioactive sources for the purpose of Industrial Radiography
  • Working with chemicals necessary to perform NDT activities all of which are controlled by MSDS and COSHH
  • Working at Height and in confined spaces.
