Our client, a leading Civil Engineering and Multi-Utility Contractor in the North East of Scotland are looking to appoint a QHSE Systems Trainee


The role will be an integral part in maintaining our client's Integrated Management System and assisting with compliance throughout the company.

The Integrated Management System comprehensively covers all aspects of Health and Safety, Quality and the Environment,to ensure works are carried out to an exceptionally high standard.

Working closely with the QHSE Manager, key responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out regular QHSE Inspections on all operational sites
  • Assisting with the preparation of Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Construction Phase Plans as required
  • Advise, guide, support, promote awareness and coach all personnel with the implementation of the company's integrated management system (IMS) policies and procedures
  • Assisting with the completion of internal IMS auditing programme
  • Completion of PQQs, ITTs and Contractor Questionnaires
  • Investigation of all accidents, incidents and nearmisses
  • Assist the QHSE Systems Manager to raise QHSE standards across the company and share best practice
  • Assist in the maintenance of quality records including archiving/disposing of any company documentation, as required
  • Maintain, and assist with the development of the company's QHSE Management System

Background/experience required:


  • Recognised health and safety qualification preferred but not essential
  • Excellent interpersonal / communication skills
  • Experience of quality management systems would be beneficial
  • Experience within the Construction and /or Civil Engineering Industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Packages
  • Hold a current Driving Licence
Our client is open to various levels of experience and this role could suit an administrator in the construction industry who is perhaps looking to move into Health & Safety, or a construction/civil engineering graduate
