Band 3 Theatre Stock Equipment Coordinator, 37.5 hours per week


Working in collaboration with the NCIC Procurement team, including Materials Management Services, the postholder will oversee the efficient and timely coordination of Theatre stock and equipment.


The postholder will be aligned to the non-clinical administrational team based within main Theatre, directly supporting all aspects of stock and equipment management as part of the overall theatre scheduling programme.


This role will require close partnership working with the Clinical Leads for both nursing and anaesthesia across the WCH and CIC sites, helping to address stock shortfalls, Orthopaedic loan kit requirements and all other equipment clashes that are identified.


The post holder's main duties will include:

  • Actively participates in the provision of materials management statistical information
  • Ensure required data captured and transmitted in time
  • Work alongside Procurement team to notify discrepancies to NHS Supply Chain on behalf of customers
  • Monitor flow of service to predict and deal with bottlenecks or shortfalls
  • Work alongside Procurement to undertake periodic stock counts as and when necessary


The department provides anaesthetic/theatre cover for elective and emergency surgery together with 24 hour cover for Intensive Care and Maternity units.


The department provides educational support for anaesthetic Doctors in Training and NCGs within the department and educational support for medical and foundation students.

The department provides acute/chronic pain and pre-assessment services, outreach, education for medical students and Foundation Doctors.


The department employs a significant number of clinical colleagues across both acute hospitals and the administrational function within the directorate is tasked with supporting all clinical staff with queries relating to human resource, payroll and rostering.

£18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

£38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
