Building Surveyor - Rail
East London / Essex
£55,000 - £60,000 plus excellent benefits
We are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join a busy rail company as part of their facilities and asset management team.
The Role:
The purpose of this role is to be part of the team responsible for managing facilities consultants, contractors, and direct labour for the Asset Management team, which oversees over 135 stations and depots.
Key duties include attending weekly and periodic Asset Management meetings, as well as providing formal reports to the Head of Facilities Management.
Furthermore, this role will require conducting monthly on-site safety tours to ensure that any ongoing work is conducted safely and in accordance with accepted safety protocols.
Inspections will also be carried out to assess the quality of work, with reports generated based on the findings.
Another responsibility of this role involves conducting site audits on a monthly basis, or as required, to assess the progress and quality of fabric maintenance.
It is crucial to ensure that any initiated works are being carried out in compliance with the agreed scope and are progressing as planned.
Reports will be generated to document the findings.Similarly, site audits will also be conducted monthly, or as necessary, to monitor the progress and quality of mechanical and electrical (M&E) work.
It is important to ensure that any ongoing works are in line with the agreed scope and are progressing as expected.
Reports will be generated to document the observations and progress made. This will be a balanced role between attending critical reactive faults when needed and planning handovers and inspections.Please note:
This role is out on the network a minimum of 4 days a week and is not office based.
What we are looking for:
Previous experience successfully managing commercial properties, contractor management skills, and railway industry experience are essential.
