The NHS Counter Fraud Authority (NHSCFA) is the national body responsible for all matters relating to the prevention, detection and investigation of economic crime across the NHS.

The post holder will provide management of the provision of a secure, effective and efficient environment for the receipt of information and the development of criminal intelligence relating to the NHS and wider health group.


The post holder will provide management of a robust and effective intelligence function which will ensure that NHSCFA is Intelligence led.

If hybrid must have 60% of time in the office over a 4 week period.

Interviews will be held on 11th June 2024.

Act as the Single Point of Contact for the providing and receiving receipt of highly sensitive Intelligence (i.e. terrorism) and sensitive information sharing agreements as may be required.


To oversee and manage the intelligence flows between Crimestoppers and the Information and Intelligence Unit and provide advice and training to Crimestoppers staff.

To ensure the protection of sources as required by law.

To oversee the crime analysis work of the Central Intelligence Unit (e.g. those from the National Intelligence Model tactical suite), providing inference from that work to inform the development of coherent crime reduction strategies across the full range of NHSCFA statutory responsibilities - making recommendations for intervention as appropriate.

To manage, co-ordinate and implement intelligence development projects, making recommendations to support the prioritisation and development of a diverse range of crime reduction activities and identifying gaps in intelligence which cannot be filled by analysis


Managing the prioritisation of intelligence activity and the management of risk within a portfolio that includes: serious fraud and corruption.


Providing oversight of the design, development and functionality of the criminal intelligence database and connecting portals which sit at the heart of NHS Counter Fraud Authority business.


To manage the development and dissemination of often highly sensitive intelligence bulletins, alerts and intelligence collection plans for economic crime impacting across the NHS.


Assuring the accuracy and completeness of concisely written high level reports to senior management and stakeholders, including central Government on intelligence matters - highlighting significant information and key judgements and making gaps in knowledge and assumptions clear.


To manage, co-ordinate and implement intelligence development projects, making recommendations to support the prioritisation and development of a diverse range of crime reduction activities and identifying gaps in intelligence which cannot be filled by analysis.
