Our Health Visiting service are looking for passionate and committed Student Health Visitors to join the Family Health and Lifestyles Team in Coventry.

South Warwickshire Foundation Trust provides the Family Health and Lifestyles services which includes School Nursing, Health Visiting, Family Nurse Partnership, Be active be healthy, Stop Smoking Services and MAMTA.

Family Health and Lifestyles service have an excellent reputation for delivering children's community services, delivering Health Visiting in Solihull and Warwickshire and Coventry.

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated practitioners to train to become Health Visitors.

As a Student Health Visitor you will have a year combining study and practice placements that will help families achieve positive health outcomes in Coventry.

The Post holder will be responsible for completing the Course and Placement requirements.

Student HV will attend BCU and during their time on placement par take Healthy Child Programme and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care which are sensitive, relevant and responsive to the diverse needs of individual and targeted patients/clients, families, groups and communities.

This will involve being responsible for prioritising their shared caseload with a HV and finally management of a caseload based on assessment of care needs.

This vacancy will be interviewed pending funding from HEE

The service offered by the health visiting service includes Universal, Universal Plus (Targeted) and Universal Partnership Plus (Specialist).

The post holder will also contribute to the Public Health Agenda to meet Public Health targets to address health inequalities.


The postholder will engage in training in order to complete the BSc (Hons) Degree / Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Community Public Health (Specialist Practitioner award in Health Visiting).


This will involve liaising with all relevant parties within the practice area and at the assigned University in order to gain the desired 50% theory and 50% practical element of the course.

In order to attain successful completion, the student will be required to work as part of a multi -disciplinary team within the primary care setting, carrying out clinical duties with clients as agreed with their Practice Teacher.

The student will be accountable to the respective local manager according to local management structures, and responsible to the allocated Practice Teacher for the term of training.
