  • Senior Buyer
  • Salary range circa £50k dependent on experience and qualifications + Excellent Benefits Package
  • We have a great opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join a small and friendly team in our office in the beautiful Peak District National Park. Applicants are sought to work within the Purchasing Department and will provide key procurement support to the Purchasing Manager and other areas of the business to ensure continuity and efficiency of production and supply.

Primary responsibilties:


  • Overhaul of the current supplier base. This will mean seeking new suppliers, renegotiating current agreements, building new relationships to guarantee capacity of supply for the future
  • A large make v buy project to allow them to exploit economies of scale and to partner with specialist suppliers throughout the UK
  • Contract negotiation
  • Conduct supplier audits and implement supplier improvement measures
  • Negotiate and implement framework agreements.
  • Purchasing project support.
  • Running tenders for high spend categories
  • Implement cost saving initiatives
  • Consignment Stock Management
  • Develop relationships with internal stakeholders to understand future requirements.

Key skills and qualifications:


  • CIPS Level 6 or similar qualification in Purchasing.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive demonstrable experience of Supplier selection/Management and audit
  • Previous experience with MRP/ ERP systems.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office
  • Excel & Word.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Hours per week, Mon-Thurs pm, Friday pm (Early finish on a Friday).
