Our
Hope Service supports some of Surrey's most vulnerable young people.

Our team of health, social care and educational professionals work innovatively to deliver essential services to young people aged 11-18 old years with mental health, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, living in Surrey.

We are a Centre of Clinical Excellence and have been recently awarded
Outstanding by Ofsted.

We are now looking to welcome an Activity Worker to join our team of passionate professional and help us to continue this good work

As an
Activity Worker with Hope you will play a key role in the planning and delivery of therapeutic support and education to the young people who use our services, either through our Day Programme or Outreach in the community.

You will be actively involved in both group and individual programmes for our young people and participate in the delivery of multi-agency programmes.

Working closely with our young people and their families you will help to empower them by developing problem solving, coping, and social interaction skills, and promoting educational attainment.

You'll be joining a highly motivated and dynamic team that works closely together to create person-centred care plans, activities and interventions which help meet our young people's therapeutic and educational goals - we're looking for a creative thinker who shares our passion and who can engage with our young people.

In this role, you'll be supported to deliver the best service that you can and there are opportunities to develop further in your career across our Children and Youth People's Service.

The Hope Service operates from two centres: Epsom, for young people living in the east of Surrey and Guildford, for those living in the west.

As an Activity Worker you'll be supporting your colleagues from both areas so you will need to have a valid driving licence and access to a car.

Here are the qualities, skills & experiences we are looking for in our Activity Worker:

  • A good understanding of the needs of young people with mental health, social, emotional or behavioural difficulties
  • Experience of working with young people using creative and flexible social skills/educational programmes
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with young people with complex mental health and social care needs

At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about the values
we follow.
