About the role
This role is part of the Emergency Planning Team.

The team works to make NNC ready for emergencies, by assessing hazards and threats, then making plans and procedures to respond.

The role is 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

After a period of training, you will join an on-call rota that provides 24/7 cover for the council to respond to emergencies that can happen at any time.

Although the role is predominantly completed in normal office hours, the nature of the work requires flexibility and a willingness to unsocial hours as required.


This role will be completed alongside a Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship, delivered with the University of Bedfordshire, which incudes one day per week of study.

This role is initially a fixed term contract until 31st July 2025. There is the possibility of conversion to a permanent role at the end of the fixed term.

What will you be doing?
You will be helping NNC to be ready for all manner of emergencies and disruptive events.


You will support in assessing hazards and threats, and developing plans and procedures to help us deal with them, in line with our duties under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.

You will help us to keep our plans, procedures and records up to date and ready for use during incidents.


You will also be completing an apprenticeship in project management, to help develop skills in designing and implementing programs of work to promote resilience across North Northamptonshire, its communities and its partners.
