  • Be available to work on a duty rota, over 7 days including weekends and evening with sleep in's. Shifts are; 8am1pm, 1pm6pm, 6pm11pm and then sleep in shift 11am8am

A little bit about what we are looking for...

As an Extra Care Scheme Officer, you will provide a range of housing management services to tenants which promote and maintain independence to sustain tenancies; delivering day to day scheme management, tenancy management and to liaise effectively with external agencies such as Adult Social Care, NCC and Care Providers for customers to maintain positive health and wellbeing and to improve social inclusion within an accommodation setting.


Your responsibilities...

  • Communicate well and takes positive steps to ensure that requests for information are fully satisfied and that information supplied is accurate, comprehensive and easily understood.
  • Monitor rent accounts with the aim to ensure rent accounts do not fall into arrears; support with payment plans to meet customers needs.
  • Ensure that the necessary standards are met with regard to the management of the kitchen, the communal rooms, hairdressers, ICT suite and any other communal facilities within the scheme.
  • Deputise for the manager at panel meetings for the allocations of tenancies as required, assist with property viewings and tenancy sign ups as required.
  • Carry out regular fire equipment and wardencall equipment checks in accordance with PAs policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a full, responsive and effective service is delivered to all customers, to maximise and sustain tenancies.
  • Ensure customers understand the conditions of their tenancy, and all the legal aspects of the tenancy are observed. Give appropriate support to customers when legal notices are served.
  • Ensure action is taken including budgeting and debt counselling advice to prevent arrears.
  • Ensure all Housing Benefit claims are established and evidenced from the start of the tenancy.
  • Liaise with the customer contact centre and contractors to monitor the progress and quality of repairs.
  • Ensure that customers interactions are recorded on PAs CRM system.
  • Respond to the activation of the emergency pull cords and carry out welfare check as required.

  • Good knowledge of existing housing law and pending changes.
  • Sound understanding of issues impacting on the social housing sector and tenants
  • Knowledge of Housing policy, procedures and good practice.
  • Understanding of Equal opportunities and Diversity.
  • Knowledge of Housing systems and databases.
