About the Role

Base Location:
Griffin Windfarm, Perthshire


Salary:
£39,415 - £45,136 depending on experience + car/car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Our Turbine Maintenance Team is responsible for the timely, compliant, and high-quality delivery of turbine maintenance on the SSE Renewables onshore wind portfolio.

As Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for arranging the day-to-day logistics for the upkeep and maintenance of SSE windfarms in the appointed area, to take a lead in complex tasks plus, coach and mentor less experienced staff, ensuring they are adequately trained and mentored.

In this role, you will also perform a range of roles and responsibilities including, daily management of our Service Technicians, supporting minor and major component activities while ensuring all required tools, equipment and parts are available.


Key accountabilities may include:

  • Complying with site rules, regulations, and PPE requirements. Understanding and implementing relevant sections of the wind turbine safety rules and the conditions of work documents.
  • Ensuring longterm integrity of the windfarm assets by effective management of technicians carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance activities in a timely manner as well as to the agreed quality standards. Updating the company Maintenance Management System (MAXIMO) via the Fingertip app. Managing the service team stores inventory.
  • Taking responsibility and care for company vehicles, tooling, I.T equipment, PPE and all company assets issued to you and audit technicians to ensure compliance.
  • Working flexibly in your role and carrying out additional or alternative duties as necessary to meet business needs. You will be expected to support the local hub and teams in other regions when required.
  • Engaging with all stakeholders to develop a commitment culture within Onshore Wind Operations and Maintenance.

What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Level 3 NVQ /SVQ or Equivalent Craft Apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical discipline or extensive experience.
  • Experience of servicing, troubleshooting, and modifying high technology plant.
  • Experience supervising/managing teams in a technical discipline with ability to coach, mentor and develop staff.
  • Experience leading teams and taking control of plant under a SSoW.
  • Ability to write technical reports, work procedures and risk assessments.
  • Strong problemsolving ability with excellent organisational skills.
  • Reasonable commutable distance and access to site, circa 60 mins.
