Opportunity Overview:


Evelyn Partners has an opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to jointheir dynamic team on a permanent basis in their Salisbury or Southampton offices.

Role Purpose:
You will work with senior accountants and members of the team to accurately process client financial data and assist with the preparation of management accounts and other outputs, within the timeframe agreed with the client or required by statute


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and input client transactions onto computerised ledger systems
  • Reconciliation of sales and purchase ledgers
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts on software
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns for review
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT/EC Sales list returns from financial information supplied by client for review
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements, including statutory accounts, partnership accounts and sole
- trader accounts for tax purposes

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
  • Attending to client administration including engagement letters and billing processes
Key Skills and Experience

  • 25 years' experience in similar position
  • Results orientated to meet and exceed client expectations, with a key focus on delivering high quality work that consistently
  • Understanding of new accounting standards.
Professional Qualifications and Education

  • 5 GCSE's Grades A-C to include Maths and English.
  • Study support towards the AAT qualification or ACCA qualification.
Key Competencies

  • Accuracy to ensure transactions are processed correctly.
  • Judgement to be able to assess a situation and reach a suitable conclusion based on the information available or know
- when to consult colleagues.

  • Planning and organisation needed throughout the process to ensure deadlines are met.
- timely basis and have the flexibility to work on-site at clients' premises if required.

  • Use of IT be able to work on IT packages such as caseview and excel. An understanding of cloud accounting packages such as Xero or Exact is desirable.
  • Commercial awareness an understanding of each client's organisation, their industry and business in general assists in
- putting each assignment into perspective and in identifying potential risks.
