£26,500 per annum
An opportunity for a Purchase Ledger Assistant has become available at our Head Office in Carlisle.
The role assists in the maintenance of the purchase ledgers for Cumbria Waste Group, currently consisting of 4 trading legal entities, to ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, credits and payments, ensuring delivery of an effective and efficient finance support function for the business.
Key Responsibilities include:
Purchase Ledger
- Coding and posting of supplier invoices and credit notes into the purchase ledger in Pegasus Opera
- Matching invoices received to purchase orders, goods received notes, and transactional data.
- Liaising with managers for approval of supplier invoices in line with authorisation procedures and limits.
- Communicating with suppliers to resolve invoicing or payment queries.
- Completing supplier statement reconciliations.
- Preparing suggested payment reports for monthly BACS payments for review and authorisation.
- Meeting agreed targets and deadlines for month end close
- Ensuring that all activities comply with relevant finance policies and procedures.
- Investigating and resolving outstanding creditor items.
Teamwork
- Work closely and build strong relationships with the finance team, offering assistance where needed to ensure an effective and efficient service is provided throughout the finance team.
- Work with managers and other stakeholders across the company to ensure the processing and payment of supplier invoices is effective.
What you need:
- Proven work experience as a purchase ledger assistant or similar role
- Accounting Technician qualification (AAT), level 3 or similar
- Knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software
