Quality Control Technician

Kettering

Hours - Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs

Salary - to £35k


Our well known client based in Kettering is recruiting a Quality Control Technician on a permanent basis to be responsible for inspecting, assessing and service testing tools received into the Service Centre from customers.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspections:


  • Follow current work instructions for maintaining accurate replacement or return record keeping.
  • Show flexibility and openness to new tasks or training.
  • Consistently work to achieving individual inspection KPI.

Inventory:


  • Raise new part number requests when required.
  • Notify leadership of inventory discrepancies or nonconformities immediately.
  • Accurately log all returns to ensure inventory quantities are correct.

Communication & influence:


  • Collaborate effectively with others in the department to achieve business goals.
  • Conduct all communications with customers & franchisees, SD' and BMs in an effective way, using professional language at all times, including nationwide travel.
  • Demonstrate a consistent focus on the providing the high levels of customer satisfaction expected.

Continuous improvement:


  • Actively seek ways to reduce waste or improve service.
  • Reduce costs significantly using continuous improvement tools, techniques, and reporting.
  • Aid Manager in departmental process development.
  • Help in maintaining a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Review KPI's monthly with the focus on efficiency and improvement

Health & Safety:


  • Ensure they work safely, always abiding by site Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Ensure personal area remains in a safe and organised manner.
  • Ensure they use PPE correctly and appropriately.
  • Raise all Health & Safety concerns to management immediately.
We are looking for someone who...

  • Has prior handsonexperience in either repair or assemblyof an engineering business, including the use of hand tools
  • Can work safely and independently
  • Flexibility to travel both nationally and regionally with a potential 50% of time away from job location (Kettering)
  • Can achieve daily targets in a fast paced,challenging, and technical working environment
  • Is IT literate and has experience with ERP systems and/or digital job cards
  • Can collaborate with team to ensure daily tasks are performed andimprove SOP's
  • Can read & write fluently in English and conduct themselves professionally in customer communications
