Join our Customer Services team as an Income Officer


We here at Swan Housing are currently looking to recruit an Income Collection Officer on a fixed term contract for 6 months.

This role will be responsible for collecting more than £9million income comprising rent, services charges, and ground rents from a range of customers including shared owners, leaseholders and private rented tenants.


The Swan Income collection team is friendly, knowledgeable and play an integral role in our customer service, often acting as a first point of contact for our customers.

In this role you will

  • Proactively chase arrears and minimise debt
  • Process and administer all rent proctection insurance claims
  • Liaison with mortgage lenders, solicitors, debt recovery specialists, external agencies where necessary to expedite recovery
  • Attend the County Court to present cases where possession is required to minimise income loss to the Association
  • Negotiate realistic repayment agreements considering tenants financial circumstances and Swan's policies. Give advice on rent payment options
  • Support the Hera team with managing calls and enquiries
You should have/be

  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Previous experience of income collection of tenants rent and leasehold service charges
  • Knowledge of legislation in housing and leasehold management, including the L&TA 1985, CLRA 200
  • Knowledge and experience of service charges and preparing and issuing notices
  • Membership of RICS / ARLA / IRPM / CIH or another relevant professional property management organisation would be desirable
