Severn Wye is a charity tackling climate change and fuel poverty through energy. We deliver a range of services from energy advice, domestic retrofit, business energy support and renewables.

We are looking for a Project Support Officer who would rise to the opportunity to support the delivery of impactful energy efficiency projects.


As a Project Support Officer you will support the delivery of a range of projects, and will provide an administrative support role to a Project Manager.

You will be expected to manage clients, communicate with people from all backgrounds and communities, and maintain project records, liaising with other team members to keep projects on track.


Working closely as part of a small team, you will help administer and deliver a range of Domestic and Non-domestic projects.


This is a role is well suited to a highly organised individual with excellent communication skills, a passion for social and environmental sustainability who works accurately and efficiently with confidential data.

Reporting to

Non-domestic Energy Services Manager


This role will include

  • Supporting customers, ensuring the smooth operation of projects and the customers' journey through it, including some diary management / making bookings.
  • Keeping accurate, organised, and efficient records.
  • Collating and reporting on project data as required.
  • Support senior colleagues in preparation at meetings at all levels, including note taking or carrying out other supporting roles as required. Supporting the Project Manager(s) with quarterly reporting on targets and scheme delivery.
  • Taking a proactive approach to developing and delivering the service.
  • Following all organisational policies and procedures.
  • Personal learning and development of technical knowledge of energy efficiency and related technologies.
  • Carrying out any other duties that may reasonably be required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

We are looking for someone with most of the following

  • Excellent customer care skills - the ability to work professionally, sensitively and inclusively.
  • Highly organised with efficient administration skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an excellent telephone manner.
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Office; comfortable working with Excel.
  • Team-worker, committed to success of whole team and able to take the initiative to produce high quality work.

Desirable skills and experience include

  • Experience in working directly with residents, or businesses/community organisations.
  • Awareness of current energy issues and fuel poverty and an interest in energy efficiency.
  • A flexible, dynamic and creative approach.
  • Experience of working in the voluntary or public sector, or in support of, local or other statutory authorities.
