Geek Retreat Sunderland is a gaming café located in Sunderland city we specialise in everything TCG and tabletop. We operate 7 days a week and hold regular gaming events. As well as operating as a café/food venue and retailer.
We are looking to grow our team with a retail and catering assistant to work on a part-time permanent basis.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Serving and assisting customers
- Preparing food and drinks
- Contributing to social media channels for the business.
- Assisting with event coordination
- General cleaning and maintenance of the store
- Handling new stock (merchandising on the shelves)
- Providing a high level of customer service to all customers.
- Catering to all customer needs
- Running Geek Retreat Academy sessions (training will be provided).
Person specification:
- A positive attitude
- Strong work ethic
- Able to build a positive professional relationship with regular customers
- A people person
- A bit of a geek or a willingness to learn and develop a knowledge of the trading card products and other products that are sold in store
- Willingness to learn how to run events within the store with help and support from owners and supervisor.
Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent
Pay:
£6.40-£11.44 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Sunderland, SR1 1DX: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
- Hospitality: 1 year (required)
