Summary and Main Purpose:


The purpose of the role is to support the Functional Skills Manager in organising and planning learner Functional Skills sessions and ensuring timely progression through their functional skills qualification.

The role will be based from our Nottingham office and will include multiple means of communication methods to excel and deliver an outstanding service to our learners.


Key Accountabilities:


  • To provide frontline customer service in relation to functional skills and report on emerging themes and escalating to the Functional Skills Manager where necessary.
  • Scheduling and planning functional skills blocks (including scheduling and prioritising learners, grouping learners, and preparing attendance registers, checking learner exemptions).
  • Communicating with employers and learners to plan and organise functional skills blocks and outlining subsequent functional skills preparation activity required.
  • Reviewing learner functional skills progress and communicating with learners, Development Coaches and employers as required.
  • Monitoring and reporting on learner functional skills attendance.
  • Reporting on learner exam outcomes and case study analysis and reporting where learners do not successfully achieve the outcomes projected.
  • Reporting on learner progress, timely completion, and associated action plan completion.
  • Planning and supporting the booking and administering of exams and mock assessments and updating tracking mechanisms to report on learner progress.
  • Planning and supporting access arrangements and invigilation activity as required.
  • Updating information into the Electronic Portfolio in a timely fashion to support all Functional Skills Face to Face Delivery Tutors
  • To produce appropriate reporting as agreed with the Functional Skills Manager and Quality Director for both internal and external use.
  • Ensuring compliance of Learner Activity Progress records and associated feedback and documentation.
  • To maintain a well ordered, and up to date FUSE Community for functional skills to ensure Functional Skills DC Resources, and key documentation are readily accessible.
  • To ascertain stakeholder satisfaction through a range of mechanisms including surveys, forums and telephone sampling and report on findings and trends over time.
  • Administrative support to the quality time in peak periods such as Ofsted, Matrix Assessment, and other such external reviews.
  • Answer telephone enquiries or redirect/take messages as appropriate.
  • Preparation of letters and other communications to participants, customers, and external bodies.
  • Contribute to the sharing of good practice and support continuous improvement throughout the Company.
  • Promote a positive image of the Company and all the services it delivers.
  • Actively contribute to maintenance of a professional and welcoming environment within all our centres.
  • Any other duties reasonably requested by the line manager.
