HR Service Centre Team Leader - £150pd - £170pd - South East London

Start ASAP for three months initially

Hybrid role - three days office based in South East London, remaining days remote


We are currently recruiting for a
Team Leader with experience in the Higher Education sectorto join one of London's leading Universities.

The Team Leader supervises the administration of contractual changes, maternity, paternity and other leave arrangements, leavers and payroll processing.


In order to be consider for this post, you MUST have previous experience in the Higher Education sector in an Operations post.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organise and manage daytoday team workload, with line management responsibility for two Service Centre Assistants.
  • Act as first escalation point for complex queries, and work collaboratively with HR colleagues and line managers to address these issues.
  • Refresh and maintain HR's online content and selfservice functions in the area of terms and conditions of service, HR policies and procedures, pay, and their associated processes.
  • Design, implement and monitor new quality and completion checking procedures for transactional work.
  • Assist with transactional activity at peak times.
  • Manage the induction, development and performance of the team to deliver a high quality customer experience.
  • Contribute to business process reviews to support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that HR processes and procedures comply with University policy and employment law, including UKVI, GDPR, disclosure and barring service and health and safety and equality and diversity.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Working in a multidisciplinary HR team.
  • Operationalising process improvements.
  • Developing customer service and customer experience improvements.
  • Managing team workload in compliance with KPIs in a highdemand environment.
  • Line management experience.
  • Previous experience in the Higher Education sector.
  • Experience of managing change.
  • An understanding of employment law in regard to employee relations, employment rights, change management, health and safety, UKVI, GDPR, disclosure and barring service and equality and diversity.
  • Good numeracy skills including the ability to interpret analytical data.
  • A demonstrable record of improving HR processes and process compliance.
  • Good written communication skills.
