Description

The RxCelerate group of companies provides a platform for out-sourced drug discovery and development services and has a client base ranging from virtual biotech companies to some of the top 15 global pharmaceutical companies.

We design and deliver complete drug development programmes from inception through to clinical studies. RxBiologics is a subsidiary of RxCelerate with a focus on delivery of biologics drug discovery.

Our aim is to become the antibody drug developer of choice for the UK's venture backed biotech start-ups and outsourced pharma projects.


RxBiologics has an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated scientists to join us and expand our services to support our growing client base.

We currently have one fixed term position available (1 year contract), based within the RxBiologics team at the Babraham Research Campus, a leading site within the Cambridge biotechnology hub.

Main Responsibilities

  • Application of molecular biology techniques including cloning and sequence analysis.
  • Protein expression in bacterial and mammalian systems.
  • Protein purification and analysis (e.g. SEC, affinity purification, SDS-PAGE and Western Blotting)
  • Running antibody characterisation assays e.g., ELISA.
  • Assist in selections using phage display technologies.
  • Provision of crossfunctional support for delivery of projects under supervision.
  • Analysis and interpretation of data.
  • Maintenance of accurate experimental records.
  • Assist with general laboratory duties.

Requirements:

Essential Skills/Requirements

  • BSc in a relevant scientific discipline with practical lab experience preferably gained in an industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of molecular biology techniques such as nucleic acid preparation, PCR and cloning.
  • Understanding of protein production in different systems.
  • Understanding of methods for protein purification and biophysical characterisation.
  • Mammalian cell culture experience is an advantage.
  • Experience in assays such as ELISA or high throughput assay formats is desirable.
  • Ability to conduct experiments following standard protocols and accurately interpret data.
  • Excellent organisational skills, capable of delivering to tight deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with ability to works effectively in a team.
