Are you a driven individual looking for a next career in Human Resources? We have an opportunity for a Human Resources Advisor to join our busy and dynamic team at Turner Home.


This demanding yet rewarding opportunity will test your knowledge of employment law and best practices while giving you the autonomy to further develop our processes in line with best practice guidelines and regulatory requirements.


In this diverse role, you will take ownership of a varied caseload, support organisational change, and provide policy advice and guidance, supporting managers to achieve compliance.

Alongside providing generalist knowledge across all parts of HR, some of the key focus areas will be employee well-being and engagement so a keen interest and/or experience in these areas is absolutely ideal.


About the role


Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll work closely with Turner Home staff team to deliver a customer-focused advisory service, which entails you providing advice, support and guidance on all aspects of HR policies, procedures and processes to support best practice.


Alongside providing generalist knowledge across all parts of HR, some of the key focus areas during your time with us will be employee journey, well-being and equality, diversity & inclusion so a keen interest and/or experience in these areas is absolutely ideal.

You'll also be producing and analyzing management information and key people metrics for people reporting so being an excel whizz is essential.

For over a century, our unique and beautiful 1800s building in Dingle, Liverpool, has been home to lots of men of all ages living with varying complex health needs.

Working Hours
You'll be contracted to 30 hours per week, usually working Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.

We do encourage and offer a flexible approach to our working times and a flexi-time system is in place within the team which you could take advantage of.


Salary
£28,000 to 30,000 pro rata (based on experience)


Annual Leave
23 days per year in addition to eight paid statutory bank holidays per year.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as first point of contact for all HR related issues providing consistent, comprehensive and professional advice and support to managers and employees in relation to policies, employee relations and more general enquiries, e.g. annual leave, probationary,ensuring where appropriate, queries are escalated to the appropriate senior team member.
  • Producing and analysis of timely management information and key people metrics for people reporting maximizing the use of Excel/HR system and sourcing external benchmarking information as necessary.
  • Working with managers to enhance their use and understanding of HR policies and processes providing appropriate methods of support e.g. bulletins, toolkits.
  • Supporting Turner Home commitment to equality, diversity & inclusion, promoting and supporting nondiscriminatory practices in all aspects of work
  • Supporting the business to proactively manage HR issues and casework in a timely and compliant manner including support and advice before and at disciplinary/grievance hearings and redundancy consultations, ensuring support is provided and discussion on case management is consultative in nature.
  • Supporting and advising managers with performance/capability matters arising within probationary process
  • Delivering high quality HR support to management teams to proactively manage the recruitment process for staff in line with legislative guidance
  • Working with the business to ensure staff leaving Turner Home have a consistent experience through their exiting processes, exploring and considering good practice within this
  • Working with the business to ensure timely compliance with relevant legislative and sector requirements e.g. DBS checks, work visas etc.
  • Act as a first point of contact for staff enquiries around our benefits offer and liaise with external
