Lab Based Position

Your role in our team:
We are looking for an experienced Research Assistant to join our Production team.

As a Research Assistant within the Production team, you will assist with the scale-up, automation and manufacture of a wide range of iPSC-derived cell types as well as the development of custom disease models to support the expansion of our research product portfolio.

You will support the Production Lead Scientist to maximise production efficiency, optimise production workflows, monitor stock levels and deliver operational excellence.


You will work closely with our commercial team as well as teams across to help deliver a quality product to market.

As such, there is a requirement to be diplomatic, collaborative, customer focused, change agile, comfortable in leading and adapting to changing priorities in a rapidly growing business.


Your key responsibilities will include:


  • Leading on the production of new disease models to support expansion of 's research product offering.
  • Supporting the optimisation, scaleup and execution of production runs for a variety of cell types.
  • Providing input for the coordination of time, resources and crossteam functionality required for the scheduling & execution of production runs.
  • Supporting the tech transfer process & engineering runs of new cell types entering production from MSAT.
  • Working with MSAT to optimise the critical aspects of production protocols for new cell types, including scaleup of culture conditions, cryopreservation, thawing & QC.
  • Maintaining SOPs for the production of new cell types as well as help with route cause analysis of failed production runs.
  • Providing input on timelines for the development and execution of manufacturing processes for new & existing cell types.
  • Promoting a proactive, continual improvement culture to maintain high standards of service and good practice.
  • Contributing to developments in laboratory organisation.
  • Actively leading in developing and maintaining the core cultural aspects of the company.

You

  • Have a Bachelor or Master's degree in a relevant field of biological sciences or equivalent experience
  • Have proven practical laboratory experience gained within a relevant industry or scientific organisation.
  • Have a practical and theoretical background in human iPSC culture and/or differentiation.
  • Are process oriented and experienced in working to SOPs.
  • Are willing to work in a highly collaborative and cross functional environment.
  • Are a motivated, proactive individual with a positive, cando attitude.
  • Are a passionate team player with excellent communication skills.

With essential experience in

  • Human pluripotent stem cell biology
  • Experience with differentiation and production human iPSCderived cells.
  • Commercialisation of iPSCderived cell types.

possibly....

  • Experience of working in a cGMP or GLP environment.
  • Experience of working with a Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Experience of CAPA, LEAN, Six-Sigma, 5S and/or other systems for optimisation and improvement of laboratory processes.
