THE BUSINESS
Westray Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Design and Project Engineer to research, design, develop, manufacture and test equipment for the oil, gas and renewables markets Completes Engineering projects by organising and controlling all project elements.
This role is based in the Catterick areaTHE ROLE
Primary contact for the client, involving them in the contract execution, managing their expectations during contract fulfilment.
Determines client and project specifications, objectives, schedule and responsibilities, by reviewing client
documentation, identifying customer requirements conferring with the management team.
Manage suppliers and contractors to maintain project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities and resolving problems.
Maintain financial diligence through the execution of budget and cost control to help meet projected profitability targets and business results
Evaluates systems and products by designing and conducting testing programmes and studying customer requirements.
Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling and installing components.
Prepares data by collecting, analysing and summarising information for installation, testing, quality, packing, and weekly reports.
Supports sales with the technical analysis of enquiries, evaluating major enquiries, preparing the technical offer, analysing project specifications and designing the technical solution.
Comply with responsibilities as laid down in Subsea Energy Solutions Quality, Health, Safety & Environment PoliciesAt all times comply with company policies, procedures and instructions, working with the management team to implement these within your team.
Be involved in a range of work to enable the department to respond effectively to the requirements of the Company.
Perform other duties as assigned by the directors or senior management team.THE PERSON
Degree/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline HND must be accompanied with relatable work experience.
Alternative qualifications may be considered acceptable.
Experience in a technical role.
Experience in project planning and cost control.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong knowledge of CAD modelling and drawings with experience in design development Experience with Solidworks
is a plus
Good understanding of manufacturing processes including, machining and fabrication as a minimum.
Hands-on can-do attitude.
Excellent problem-solving skills & a creative mind set.
Team player with the ability to work on your own
Commercially aware with the ability to negotiate costs.
Ability to meet targets and deadlines
Comfortable and capable of client management during meetings and testing.
UK Full Driving Licence
Preferred but not essential
Oil/Gas and renewable markets manufacturing product experience.
Chartered Engineer
Project Management Qualification
Good Knowledge of offshore operations.
Good knowledge of QHSE.
Development in Role
Develop technical and commercial
THE PACKAGE
Circa £40K per annum
40-hour week - 8:15am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3:30pm Friday
20 days holiday plus statutory - 1 day extra pay year for service up to 25 days plus stat
